Steady Changes...

Greetings All,
I hope all it well. Sorry I have been away for a few days.  There are many changes coming up for my family and I. All positive of course.  In any event, I hope all is well with you all and you all are happy and healthy. :-)

To be completely honest, for the past couple days I noticed when I drink my juice, which is still the same ingredients as the past two weeks, I felt like I was starving afterwards! It is important to note that although we are juicing it is still possible to gain weight.  This will defeat the purpose of any lifestyle change unless one is underweight and trying to add on pounds or kilosI tried to determine what ingredient in the juice could possibly make me so very hungry within 45 minutes of consuming my juice.

I am not a scientist nor a Nutritionist as of yet, but I have found that when I eliminate the ginger I do not have that hungry feeling so readily after consuming the juice. I am uncertain if it is because the ginger is spicy which I always thought spices helped minimize hunger. In any event, I placed ginger back in my juices because it changes the taste dramatically and for the best.

What I did do is make a substantial change in my eating habits. Now I eat raw vegatables all and 2 fruits during the day, that is until 3:00 pm.  At 3 I eat fish and kale or another green as always.  Then in between 6:30 and 7:30 I drink my juice for the day.  That is a major change. But I like doing this because it allows my digestive system to rest and it takes less time for my body to process juices when compared to meals. This is due to the fact that, our body does not have to work extra hard to digest juice it is already broken down and goes rapidly absorbed into our bloodstream unlike whole meals.

I hope I did not bore anyone, but I will continue this regimen over the next few weeks. As of now, it is working and when or if I feel hungry before bedtime, I drink a glass of water prior to bedtime and then off to sleep I go. I do that same thing when I wake up I take my synthyroid with a glass of water. Doing so cleans out our systems so it can began the process all over again the next day.

Please inform me if you all are experiencing hunger or your stomach growling when you use ginger in your juices.  Again be mindful that just because we are juicing for healthy does not mean we can have as much fruit and vegetables as we want and eat whatever we want during the day.  The juicing calories add up! This is due to the fact that, the produce you are juicing does what? Yield the same calories as eating the produce in its entirety.

I will leave you all with that and I pray you all have a wonderful afternoon/ evening depending upon your location.

Be Blessed,
-GP

Determination, Motivation, and Planning

Good afternoon everyone,

How are you all today? Today I seem to have more energy than I did previously.  I am uncertain of why that is, one could deduce that it is attributed to juicing and eating healthier. :-)

Ok first things first, yesterday was a good day overall. I did not crave sodas, artificial sugars, or nutri grain bars as I once had.  This could be attributed to the fact I was so distracted with my Nutrition Class. I did not complete it until 11:00 pm which left me only 45 minutes to spare! Nothing like procrastination to get me on my A-game? lol

Not so fast!!! When it comes to sticking to a lifestyle change especially one that involves your daily consumption of foodwe must plan, plan, plan! With that said, I do not like to plan when it comes to eating, now Disney or Vacations that is different. Anyway planning is necessary, because I am determined to get my allergies in check. As a result, starting off I have decided to stick to the simple ingredients I have been juicingThis week I only spent $20 for the entire week for juicing produce! Yay me! But keep in mind I only juice for breakfast and if I have some left over which I usually do, I have it for lunch.

In any event $20 a week for 7 days of breakfast and lunches consist of: 5 bunches of Celery, 2 bags of large carrots, 9 cucumbers, 1 large ginger root, 2 bags of lemons (which I stopped juicing, 5 kiwi, 1 bunch of bananas ) and 2 bags of apples (usually granny, but this time red delicious apples).  You may wonder how that is possible to purchase all that for so cheap? Keep in mind things are much cheaper at the base commissary than they are at local supermarkets. If you do not have access to a base simply visit your local farmers markets or local produce farms to see if they sale produce at a cheaper price than grocery stores.  But this summer I am planning to start my own patio garden since it stays in the mid 80's during winter in the Keys.

Oops I went out on a tangent! Ok, when I juice I can yield at least 26 ounces but no more than 38 ounces.  This is dependant on the size of the produce I am juicing that morning.  Currently I juice-- 1 cucumber (peel the skin if it is waxy), 4 or 5 celery stalks, thumb-sized ginger (remove the skin), 2 apples (green, yellow, red), 1 lemon (peeled).  Today the produce yield approximately 26 ounces. I could not drink the last 8 ounces so I placed it in a glass jar. Then placed it in the freezer for 10 mins so it would cool faster.  Then I moved the glass to the refrigerator for consumption when I feel hungry in the hours to come.

Sometimes all this planning makes me feel like a squirrel stashing nuts! lol My husband would agree because the first two shelves of our refrigerator consists of only fruits and vegetables! However, he has no problem with me taking over the freezer, which has collected a vast amount of broccoli which he loves and a mass of frozen fruits.  This is because I make my husband and our daughter fresh smoothies each day before work and school.  When I do this I add a tablespoon of flaxseed to their smoothies.  Ha! There is nothing like sneaking fiber into their diets without protest and occasionally a lil spinach shhh! Thats our secret.

Again I am long winded. Please have a safe and fun filled day! It is beautiful outside here, time to go ride the bike! Enjoy your day no matter what you do-- God Bless.

To avoid adding artifical flavoring to my water. I use a 1 liter pitcher and fill 3/4 of the way with water. I then slice 2 lemons horozonatally with peel on, then I add 1 sliced kiwi, and 5 frozen strawberries.  The combination is wonderful! After about 6 hours I usually eat the fruits before dinner which is usually around 6:30pm.

Ok you can stop reading now, but please feel free to continue. I know I am going to sound like a broken record, but make sure if you are counting calories to count the whole caloric valueNo matter that state of the produce rather whole or juiced the caloric value is the same.  When juicing calories are not removed, yet the pulp which is the fiber of the fruit and minimal juice depending on what juicer you purchased.

Since I live in the FL Keys and I totally dislike throwing away the pulp accumulated in the juice extractor. I decided it would be ok to give my dog 1/4 of a cup of pulp.  That is not nearly close to what is extracted from the produce which yields aapproximately 4 cups of pulp.  If I were at the North FL house I would lightly cover it in the forest behind my house and leave it for the birds and squirrels to eat.  But until I am there next week, this is what I have done. So far so good :-). Be sure not give carrot pulp to your doggie if you try this.  As you know humans should not consume alot of carrot juice.  Due to the fact that, it could change the skin color to an orange color and too much of anything can be bad for our health.

Chew This NOT That!

Who almost broke their juice fast? You are reading her blog! Yes me :'( I so wanted to throw the juicer out the window hard enough for it to reach the street and get run over by a huge truck!

What are we without friends? Today the virtual ladies of teamcutie helped me and understood me like no other friend or family member could. I had the overwhelming urge to chew! What? Anything? I posted in teamcutie I needed to chew. I was informed not to be so hard on myself and that Joe in FSND movie had an apple for breakfast. Now that I was told that I do remember him eating an apple! So he was eating whatever he juiced on days he didnt have his juicer? I have to watch it again.

My husband is very supportive but he told me to eat. Then said, "If you do not chew your teeth will fall out"! For real? Oh ok I asked members of teamcutie and no one could confirm. For now I chewed an orange but did not eat it. Tomorrow I pray things get better. Because after I post this I will be making spaghetti for my family! Here we go. Pray for me y'all! Not because I want to eat it, but because it will take hours to get this done. OCD! That is why I do slide shows when it comes to my dishes instead of video footage for YT. OOps another secret! lol Have a good one talk to you all soon. **hugs**

I Got My Groove!

Day 14 of 60 Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead Juice Fast/ Feast

Hello my friends! How is the day treating you all so far? Well, mine is off to a pretty good start. Thanks for asking haha!

I woke up early this morning thanking God for another day. My grandma use to say, "I woke up early this morning thanking God that he woke me in my right mind"! I love my Grandma. I worked out first thing again on the wii! Loving it!

But I know today like most others will be filled with challenges. What challenges you ask? Oh the usual internal fighting with: Should I exercise, how can I make juicing faster, how can I make a healthy meal for my family without sampling it, and praying I don't push back starting my Graduate degree in Nutrition. Those things. Things that take effort. lol at least for me they do.

Perhaps so you understand more clearly, the reason I stated that is because it has come time for you all to know my secret. Well, I have a Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). As a child I thought it was that I didn't like sharing, or maybe it was because I wanted to be neat. I would line the shampoo, chips, shoes, clothes, and anything else up and count them, place them just so. Then I would take inventory that happened from elementary til I joined the Air Force. But it got worse while in the Air Force that is another story for a later day. But those examples are just the tip of the iceberg. Bottom line is I needed and wanted control over everything in "my world". Everything was my and mine. That is it!

I love my family so much. My daughter I believe was sent straight from Heaven, I just love her to pieces. We share the same Birthday and will always be the best Birthday present I ever received. She is now 15 and she obtained her learners almost 2 weeks ago. Which is 2 days after I began my FSND juice fast. Anyway, as she grew up I was so concerned about germs, ensuring she was overly clean, kind to others, and protected at all times.

After almost 17 years of marriage, I have eased up with my husbands help. But he says one small task is still sometimes too much. So that leads me to the reason why I told you all that. One act might not seem like a big deal to someone else, but to me it has to be done correctly and often times than not over and over until I am satisfied. As you can tell in my videos I hate editing so I redo the video until I get it "right".

So anything involving food is a chore for me. I love to cook; however, when I do I use gloves when I have to touch meat for my family. Touching meat makes me ill and I want to run away. But I do it for my family and it has been that way since I was a young girl. My Mother says, "I never liked meat, but I loved fish but not seeing the bones." So, some ask, "why are you juicing so on so forth." Well, all I can say is "eating meat, juicing, detoxing, and/or fasting is not for everyone. I want to be healthier."

So one would think, juicing is a cinch for me right? Well, no... I love my jack lalanne juicer though, but you know that already. Here is my steps for juicing. First and foremost there must be order. What is order? Juice like vegetables and fruits at one time, categorized, and in order by texture.

Carrots, apples, celery, tomato, ginger are the ingredients I juiced for today. First, put everything on the counter. Next take each item out and soak them in water for 5 minutes. Take the easiest items that require  less preparation and move them to the next bowl. Next, take the carrots, celeray, and apples to the side. Rub them down while water is running over each separate group for 5 minutes. While I do this I tell myself, "Gloria make sure the water is ice cold".

Why ice old? Some might think hot. Nope not me I am worried about Germs multiplying under heat. So in my mind cold water makes the germs and dirt slide off when it comes to my food. Weird I know, again I have OCD. Next take the slicer and peel all the skin of the apples and decore the apple. Why? Because I dont want bugs to be in the core to be juiced with my ingredients. Some would say you would know if bugs were in there if you inspect the apple. Well, I would say, " I cant see the core til its in my hands". Next wipe down the carrots and celery to get them free of water. Oh look how squeaky clean they are! Next, I chop the head and tail of the carrots off, then take the skin off with the peeler. I do the same with the celery.  Then begin to juice.

Now you see why this is a challenge. Instead of taking 15 minutes to juice, drink, and clean up. It takes me just minutes shy of an hour. Why? Because of the meticulous cleaning I do every step? So each day I have to say to myself I can do it. I love juice, I just hate juicing! Now you all know why I wrote that in an earlier post. If I could have purchased those "naked juices" from walmart I would have. But, I will continue this the rest of my life, but I have grown to know there are worse things in life I can have. So OCD is alright, because it is not as debilitating as some other peoples that I know of.

So this day I am thankful for it and all the challenges it holds. I am very happy to have let you all in on my secret and I pray you wont judge me for speaking my truth. Please give yourselves a hug for me and know that I care about you all and I pray you all are having a nice day. **hugs**

Smooth Sailing in the Beginning

Recap of Day 8 of 60 which was 1 Feb 2012

Good evening Happy People! I made up a rhyme for you all. Here it goes... Time is clicking and the weight is dipping! lol Now its not nice to throw tomatoes! If you guessed that I can't Rap a lick, you would be correct!

OK, I know you all didn't come here for that! I am getting to it.... Yesterday was awesome! I had loads of energy. Enough to be able to work out for 2+ hours. Again, I used the wii the Free Step and Free Run games. I can't believe so many calories can be burned in your very own home; all while watching your favorite television show or movie. If you try it, ensure you turn up the volume on your controller. This will allow you to hear the step count. Additionally it will allow you to keep pace, thus staying on track/step with your wii avatar/mii.

How many calories do I burn on the wii each day, you ask? At least 700+. That is not bad considering, I consume 1200 calories a day when I am not juicing. You maybe wondering if the wii workout actually allows you to loose "real weight" the answer is ,yes! I lost 5lbs this week and it is only Wednesday.

Boring day so far right? Right... Would you know that later in the afternoon my day got interesting in a not so good way? I did something adventurous! Guess what I did. I will give you 2 seconds to guess... Ok you give up right? So, yesterday while talking with team cutie members I learned more information about Salt Water Flushing. Yes, it is exactly what is sounds like. The flush is an oral ex-lax so to speak. I was informed to gather up the following ingredients-- 1 tablespoon of sea salt, 1 lemon, and 1 quart of water that is room temperature. I ran out of lemons from juicing the Mean Green, all I had left were limes and oranges. Which one would you pick? The sweet right one right? Of course the orange wins. Yippy! Talking to myself in my mind I say, I better use a straw so this crap can hit the back of my throat and go down smoothly.

I began to think of all the things I hate to eat, which include things that would probably taste worse than this concoction. For example, dirt pies, moss, and tide washing powder! Yes, tide washing powder! Don't ask I might tell you later. I am so very ashamed!

Ok I am psyched out enough now. The timer is set for 10 minutes. I grasped the liter of mess and took a big slurp while holding my breath! I stopped and eww the taste was indescribable! I take a hit of the orange and squeeze the juice in my mouth. That worked for a second. Time is ticking I slam another .25 liters down my throat! I need to think of something to make me get this down! What is that show where they eat bugs and stuff? I have no idea, but at this point I rather eat them than this. So this is not working. So, here is goes the next .25 liters down. Ok now I am on the last .25 liters and I am gagging and my tummy feels like it going to explode! Its taking sheer willpower to keep this down.

I hear that you can drown from taking in so much water at once! Is it possible? I call my husband and tell him I am awfully ill! Exaggerating of course. But I feel like the blob! I can't wait to expel this crap. No pun intended! 40 minutes later its sheer madness. Please take the morning off when doing this. Make sure you dont have to leave the house for at least 4 hours or you will have espresso everywhere and a snitch to match!

Will I do it again perhaps? Do I want to NO! Why do it? It aids at getting more toxins our of our bodies and what better time to do it than while juicing? Because the nutrients from the juice get added back to our bodies. Thanks Carla! Yes, I summed up Carla's explanation from team cutie.

Now you have it my day wasnt so eventful after all. You wonder what Day 9 brings? You will find out shortly. As always have a wonderful evening. Much love to you and yours. *hugs*

No Cravings!

Hello Happy People! Yet another successful Florida trip is complete. Thanking God for his traveling Mercies!

Well, I brought back with me my Jack LaLanne Juicer. It is the best juicer in my opinion and I will never use the Ninja to juice again. The big difference in the two is, the Ninja does not extract pulp so all you get is a well blended watered down liquified mess. At least that is what my results were. lol.But you have to keep in mind everyone has differnent techniques and ways of accomplishing things. For example if you and I have the same ingredients and were told to cook a pie. Your pie will more likely taste very different than mine. So, don't take my word as bond on the ninja. Because for me it is not a total loss. My daughter mentioned that she can use it to make dough for her and her dad Vege Pizzas! Great idea! I believe I have the Ninja Kitchen System.

Last night my husband and I took a late walk. My legs were killing me. But he sits down at work alot so when he gets home we like to walk 2 miles after dinner. So pace, no goals. Today when I awoke it was very unusual! It began with a burst of energy! Unlike most days since being on the FSND Feast/Fast. But no complaining here, the energy surely is welcomed.

Today I want to do something different. I usually workout at the gym or at home before I sent my gym equipment to the FL house. But, today since my oh so spoiled daughter was at school. I decided to pull out her wii and use it to workout at home today. What workouts on the wii are just as good as going to the gym? Well there is the Wii Fit Plus I believe that is the name. I weighed in and did the training, this morning I did the Free Step and Free Run! I was beat! I burnt 788 calories and was out of breath! For the Free Step I chose the 30 minute duration time. Once I hit the start button I said, "this will not do anything, but her I go!" Wow was I in for a super big shock! I did 2400 steps in 30 mins. But I did that 4 times. That means just under 10k steps! I was so pleased with myself. However, it took two hours to go 10k steps not unregulated by the wiii user but by the game. So, working out for that long was kind of difficult. The bright side is while doing the step you can watch anything on tv or any movie in which you prefer. Today I watched part of the Today Show, Part of Wendy Williams and half of Twilight the very first one. I just love Twilight series! Team Edward!

Anyway, what have I eaten today? Not a thing! I keep drinking water, but I havent been hungry enough to juice just yet. I will more than likely prepare a glass of Modified Mean Green when my family sits down to eat. Tonight I am unsure what to make them. I just might pick them up sushi or something. We shall see lol pray for me because thats my weakness!

Do I have anyone who is joining me this week on this journey? If so, please comment below. I look forward to your insight and opinions on my journey. Have a wonderful evening and remember to tell your family and friends you love them. You never know what tomorrow has in store. *hugs*

Road Temptations

Catching up Cont'd Day 5- Sunday January 29, 2012

Every fast food restaurant road sign ad to be seen, can be seen on I-10! Good gravy! Who thought posting those signs was a good idea! 1 hour into the drive. "Mom dad I need to go to the restroom". Ok side trip compete. I say to the Lord, "Please keep out of her mind the need to eat this early its only 6am. Almost immediately, "Mom I am hungry". I snapped, "wait! I cant eat or drink til 10:00 am today!" Do you guys remember I said in an earlier post that I have to wait 4 hours before drinking/eating anything for the day? Five minutes go by then I tell, "her I am sorry and that they can eat". 2 hour go by and they never stopped! Did I snap? No I dont think so, but the detox monster makes ugly faces. So perhaps that's what got them stumped? Ok I have come to the realization that I need to gain control and let them be normal and eat normal. This is my challenge not theirs.

Its 10:48am now, Hubby asks if she's ready to eat. Reply, Yes Dad! McDonalds? Great! Thanks! Hubby ask, "What do you guys want to order"? They ordered 3 bacon egg and cheese biscuits, two hashbrowns, and one cup of orange juice! Hubby ask me, "anything for you?" Folded arms pierced mouth, "NOPE!" Then I say, "yes as a matter of fact I want a clear plastic cup from McDonalds to drink my shiznits from! Humph!Ok?" Then I checked myself again! uggh! I want to yell at the speaker, I want 2 hashbrowns too and oatmeal with fruits on top! Ok regain control! give me that cup lets see how Mr. Mean Green tastes this morning! It should be wonderful! I added mango and kiwis! We park hubby decides he needs a restroom break after ordering. So, I pour in the green in my cup. Hubby returns what is that, what is that awful smell! I am like wtf! He snifts the cup and says, "its that". So I had to throw out my mean Green!

How did the story end... it was a hell of a trip 10 hours of nothing put water, sleep, and crankiness of course!

Calm Day so I Think!

Catching Up Cont'd- Day 4 January 28, 2012

Woke up feeling well rested. Took morning meds (thyroid medication), wait 4 hours til noon to drink/eat as the doctor prescribed everyday the rest of my life. Now what to do? Get ready for the day, decorate the house, and head to the beach?

It's now noon! Thank you Jesus! I am starving. But I so am beginning to hate juicing... sigh... It use to be fun to see the juice extracted from the pulp. Now its just blah... Ok I need to figure out how to juice once a day for the next 56 days! Light bulbs turn on!

Go to the refridge and triple everything! Thinking I only have to juice once. Today this will be a cinch! Making sure to leave enough to juice for tomorrows trip back 2 LA. I am all over this Move over I am stretching and excited to juice enough for 24 hours! 12 celery stalks, 3 cucumbers, 1/3 ginger root, 6 granny smith apples, and 3 lemons. Yum!

One hour later there is a party in my tummy. Not the good kind! Run! Which restroom! Oh no! Yelling, "Get out the wayyyyyyy!" Thank God I made it!

Its now 3:40 pm. the Natives are restless again! Who's hungry and starting to hate the mean green juice and challenge? You are correct, Me! Ok whats for dinner since the natives are about to die from hunger? I want to yell, "Try drinking juice and you will know first hand what it feels like to be hungry!"

Ok Spaghetti it is! Why oh why? Ok drink that mean green while cooking that will knock the edge off! Ok this isn't so bad! I feel a tap on my shoulder. Mom, "I want velvetta cheese in mine and I want Parmesan on top when it is done." I say, "Ok Dear".

Praying all the while, Lord help me Please! Thinking in my head-- I know there are people who can't chew and may be hooked up to iv's and feeding tubes right now. I know there are people with throat cancer unable to eat or drink. I know I should be thankful in having the means and health to do this challenge!

Setting the Table, say the grace, cheers! Then the entertainment begins. Forks hitting plates, "mmmm this is so good mom" my daughter says. "Why yes it is, Gloria"! my hubby says. Thanks :-/ I dont want this juice I feel like slamming it against the beautiful imported tile and making it and the walls turn green! But instead I pray to the Lord.

Lord help me I need to be an example for my daughter. So she will know she can resist anything if she prays to you, remain strong and be willing to listen. Here I go sip, slurp, sip. I say out loud yup V8!

Every-ones tummy is full! I make a sad face. Hubby says, "what's wrong baby"? I say as nice and charming as I can, "try this". Hubby replies, "Oh no, I don't want to honey!" I look at my daughter and say, "You try it". She quickly replies and with authority, "No Mom, No!" I say to my hubby, "If you don't try it I won't cook next week!" His eyes widened and his face frowns again. His mouth opens and he says, "Ok, I'll try it". Straw in mouth, face shrinks up. One small sip, he says, "Oh not bad tastes like a ripe liquid banana!" I say, "Oh yea? Ok I suggest you eat the rest of that spaghetti, before I throw the rest of this ripe banana in the forest!". Hubby says, "ok honey". Did I throw it in the forest no! Did I want to hell yes! I was tempted the rest of the evening!

Its now 9pm. I need to drink this 16 oz of water and dream abut sherbet ice cream tonight. Pray for me y'all! Good night and Big hugs!

9:05pm
Why am I really doing this? Should I modify? My health is good! I have allergies and a few mild other issues. Thats not bad right? Seems like I have something to prove! Why not drink mean green juice during the day til dinner? Then I can have veggies at night! Hubby's suggestion because he has seen me struggle!

Here I go thinking! Jesus fasted for 40 days. So I have to try it. There must be some good to it! So, let me take this one day at a time. What will tomorrow bring? Lets find out together. Night <3

In Need of Strength

Catching Up Con't- Day 3 January 27, 2012

We arrived at the Florida house and the natives are restless for dinner. In times like these, I speak to the Lord

Dear Lord, you know I saw that snickers bar and they are my weakness. Should I toss this fast out the window, I already ate half a cucumber? What can I loose?

Then I remember how my loving husband stopped at Walmart 5 miles from our home to pick up items for me to juice! Uggh! At this point instead of being grateful for the support, I said why is he trying to make me do this! We are in the kitchen, so now its time to juice. Excited but not really, I wish I was a witch. That would allow me to snap a finger and anything I want would appear! Snap out of it Cinderella its not going to happen! On to juicing! Bright idea, use a larger than thumb size piece of Ginger root! Why oh why did I do that? My fingers are burning! Do you all experience that when peeling ginger? Ok the juice is ready, so back to dinner.

Who is the chef? Not really but the Chef of this home. Yes, Me! Am I strong enough to resist eating the fish (tilaphia) in which I am preparing for dinner? I say to the Lord again,"please let me prepare this meal in the home you have blessed us with. It is definitely a daily struggle to drink only juice each day all day, especially on long drives to FL. But I know you will give me the strength to drink this down and be satisfied, as I watch my family eat the meal you provided them. Amen."

Dinner is prepared, the table is set, and now we bow our heads to give thanks."Bless these thy gifts we are about to receive from thy bounty through Christ our Lord. Amen." I made it through! I sit here as I watch my family eat. It looks so delicious and I am famished. So, I stare down my juice as I am very hesitant and scared to try the new ratios. I take a deep breath and hold it. Sip... Guess what? The added ginger made it taste like green V8! Cheers! Oh no, why does my stomach feel hot? Only minutes later bubbles. Oh no! There is no way I can drink the rest of these 24 ounces
Thank goodness for glass mason jars! If you don't have them purchase them for this journey, in the event you join me! :-) Have a Blessed day you all. *hugs*

Trying Times

Please bear with me as I catch you all up on current day events involving my Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead Juice Feast/Fast.

Trying Times Catching Up- Day 2 January 26, 2012

At 12:00 p.m. today I just drank Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead (FSND) juice. Hubby purchased me a Ninja! How sweet of him! I was informed this was one of the best juicer, blender, food processor on the market.NOT! In any event, after drinking my juice today I decided I would probably eat/drink again in 4 hours. I so wish that was the case! Approximately one hour later here I am spinning around in the kitchen! I don't have time to clean my ninja yet I am starving! What am I going to do? I so badly want a salad right now! Let me have a tomato please! No, liquids only! How did I let this happen! So, I quickly grab some water. I say out-loud like my life depended on it, GULP,  "Finally the beast is tamed!"

Its nearly 3:30 p.m. we are packed up and on the road to Florida to check on the house and drop of some clothing items! What you may want to know is that, I had the bright idea to take anything I CAN fit minus a few outfits and take the rest to Florida. Anything that I cant fit and has a tag on it must stay in LA. Why you ask? Motivation of course isn't that the most commonly used word when faced with reaching a goal? To always be motivated. So, I kept 2 sets of street clothes at LA to be worn over and over until I fit into the ahem.... smaller attire. So here we go. On the journey to FL.

Oh how I feel terribly hungry. Hubby is driving, the dog is playing with his toy. Our daughter is reading a book. I say out loud, "Where is the water and how long can survive this 12 hour journey? I assumed hubby could somehow jerry rig the Ninja in the car somehow. Well, taking the Ninja was not a feasible option. So it was settled water fast it will be from here on out!

Time is flying, it is now 8pm. I am seeing a plethora of restaurants as we pass them by along the way, Temptation is a beast and I am on the cusp of giving in! It's certainly not without sheer willpower that, I dont scream, "HELL PULL THIS DARN CAR OVER AND LET ME EAT EVERYTHING IN SIGHT AT THE GAS STATION" Oh the looks I would get, if I were to do something like that!

Bright Idea! I can and must have a cucumber? Yes oh yes! Not to mention it is one of the items I must juice daily! Fighting with hunger pains I gave in! I planned ahead and took 1/2 cucumber  for emergency. That cucumber was gone in just under 25 seconds I was like a pig eating slop! Ahhh my tummy feels as if I had eaten a feast of shrimps dipped in hot butter sauce! Am I psyching myself out? We shall see. On to day three...

Introduction

For those of you who follow my Youtube Channel (YT) Gloria7433, you know that I began a new journey. This journey is named after a Movie known as Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. I determined after watching the movie that this is a juice challenge I would like to join in efforts to obtain better health. I first learned of the Movie from members of Team Cutie. I believe God has placed these women in my life at this time in my life, so we can all share life experiences and gain our health back one pound at a time. I created this blog to journal day to day events in my life; however, that was put on hold. But today is the first day I will begin to post my journeys in life. Whether life, hair, weight, makeup, clothes, education, and/ or family. Here you will find things that interest me and I hope they interest you as well. If you happen upon this blog please comment with your ideas, suggestion, and positive input, it will be greatly appreciated. Have a Blessed Day. *hugs*
